TIMUN EMAS

Once in Central Java there was a widow who was old, his name Is Mbok Rondo. Her work is only looking for wood in the forest. A long time ago Mbok Rondo wants to have a child. But she's just a poor widow, and she is old. Where can she get older. One day, after collecting wood in the forest, Mbok Rondo sat resting while complaining about her life “if I have a child, maybe my life will easier, because someone will help my work”.

Then suddenly the Earth shaked, like earthquakes. In front of the street there was a giant with big body and spooky-faced.Mbok Rondo was afraid to see it. “hai, Mbok Rondo, don't be afraid. I wont disturb you. Do you want have a child?, I can help you.” giant said.

“ really?”, mbok rondo said. Then fear started to disappear. “ yes, but there are virtues”,giant said. “What is the virtues?”, mbok rondo ask. “ if your child is 16, you should leave to me, the child will be my food”, add the giant. She agree with the virtues, because she wanted a child so much. Mbok rondo didn ' t think long again and approved.

Then the giant give her seeds cucumber to mbok rondo. “plant this seeds cucumbers !”, giant said. Then mbok rondo went to home soon. When she arrived at her home, she immediately planting seeds cucumber in the backyard of her house. Everyday mbok rondo watering it. In two weeks the plant had generated.

                                                                                                           

Of the many fruit mbok rondo very interested in fruit cucumbers that was large one and it has golden color. Mbok rondo brough it into the house, when she got home, mbok rondo grabbed a knife and divided that fruit. Then, he opened it carefully and turns on the acorns mentions a daughter who is very beautiful. “ahh, the giant not lying, now I have a daughter, ohh..  how pleased my heart”, mbok rondo said. Mbok rondo so happy, she called the baby Timun emas.Day, months and years has changed. Timun emas grew become a beautiful girl. Mbok rondo loved Timun emas.

 At morning, mbok rondo and Timun  went to the forest to look for twigs. Suddenly the earth shook violently and they heard laughter came from the giant. ”oh mbok rondo come out! I come to ask for your promise”, said the giant. Then mbok rondo whispered to timun emas to hid under the bed.“ I know your arrival here to take Timun Emas”, giant said. Mbok rondo said ,”Give me  two years, if I give her now Timun Emas is not ready to eat, His body is still little”. “well then 2 years left, I will come. If you lie, I will punish you” giant said. The giant lauged and went away.  “my son come out, the giant has gone”, mbok rondo said.

“I just heard that conversation apparently the giant wanted me”, Timun Emas said. That is true my daughter, but I wont you to be a lunch for the giant” mbok rondo said. 2 years later, Timun Emas became mature, her face more beautiful. But mbok rondo worry if remember her promise to giant.

 In an evening when she was sleeping, mbok rondo dreamed that she went to bare heights meet a hermit. And hermit gave a bundle that can save Timun Emas from the giant. The next day mbok rondo went to bikut bare. Hermit gave 4 little bundle containing seeds cucumber, needle, salt and terasi.

 Mbok rondo accepted it with a sense of wonder when she got home, she gave a gift from hermit to Timun Emas. “my daughter, right now don’t worry. I have amulets to against the giant.

When mbok rondo being sewed nightgown for Timun Emas, suddenly earth shook again and the giant came. “hoohohoo, mbok rondo where is Timun Emas? come on leave it to me, i was very hungry”, giant said.” all right, I will take her outside “ Mbok Rondo said. she went immediately inside the home and at took bundle from hermit. Then in gave it to Timun Emas.“ my daughter bring it and go out through the back door “ mbok rondo said. “ where Timun Emas”,the voice roared from giant. “I'm sorry Timun Emas has gone”,Mbok Rondo said.

Timun Emas had started to fatigue, in tribulation Timun Emas direct threw cucumber seeds, miraculously the cucumber seeds turned to a cucumber field of an enormous bushy. Actually cucumber fruit could adde8d giant’s strength. Then giant Persued her again.

Then Timun Emas sprinkled needles, then  that needles turned into a forest bamboo was so heavily. The giant unyielding he broke through these woods. But the body and his legs felt sick for scraped reeds that broke.but with his perseve, the giant finally got through the bamboo woods.

 Because not successful Timun emas took some salt, the giant confusion because his body splashed into the sea. But with his mighty, the giant could swam accrosed to sea. Because she was very tired, Timun emas used the last bundle.

                                                                                          

            Timun emas threw terasi toward the giant, suddenly it changed into the ocean mud life which it boils.

Giant stung because his body sink in the ocean mud life. The giant wriggled but the more giant moves faster,it make him drowned. “Timun Emas help me, I promise wont eat you”,giant said. But the hot ocean mud life drowned body of the giant.

 That of a swallow now Timun emas could breathea easier. She soon went to her house, at a distance  mbok rondo running to took her. Finally Timun Emas and Mbok Rondo lived happily ever after.
